Priya wants cops to produce her son before court

Hyderabad: Padma Priya, the estranged wife of Kodela Sivaramakrishna, son of AP Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasad Rao, on Wednesday moved the Hyderabad High Court by filing a habeas corpus petition seeking a direction to Visakhapatnam city police to produce her son before the court.
She told the court that her husband, accompanied by some goons and police, barged into her house and took away her son. Ms Priya told the court that she lodged a complaint on September 18 in the Three Town police station of Visakhapatnam city and police registered a case under IPC sections 498 A (harassment), 363 (kidnapping) and 441 (trespassing).
She alleged that despite registering the case, police have not taken any steps to rescue her kidnapped son. She also told the court that the police desisted from including the name of Mallikarjun Rao, a police officer who accompanied her husband while taking away her son.
