With the festive season, come the invites for many parties in town. If you are planning a party, go for the outdoor garden party with the perfect set-up. Lights and flowers become the life of a set-up. “While the favourites for this festive season are carrot orange and canary yellow, one can also opt for a bright fuschia or purple. You can have little pink and orange gazebos where one can arrange different activities, be it a tarot card reading corner or even a little mehendi space.
Many love to put up motif-printed tents if they are having a party outdoors,” she says, adding, “Obviously, marigold is the flower of the season. If one is putting up traditional genda latkans from trees, it is best to go for the Calcutta banti flowers which are perfectly round in shape.”
Don’t forget to decorate the tables. “You can opt for a zardozi bordered table cloth or a simple one with brocade cushions. Place flowers all around the table and put up thalis with votive glass pieces with tea lights in them,” says Bobby Khandari, image and style consultant.
