AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu vows people’s capital

Land pooling will begin with the participation of farmers within 2-3 months
Vijayawada: A people's capital will be developed connecting Vijayawada, Guntur, Tenali and Mangalagiri, Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu said. Land pooling will begin with the participation of farmers within two or three months.
The CM was addressing a meeting after launching Doordarshan’s Saptagiri channel here on Saturday. He will launch all major programmes from Vijayawada hereafter. Mr Naidu is going to launch the enhanced old pension scheme of Rs 1,000 from Vijayawada on October 2.
The CM will also launch Swachh Andhra Pradesh on the lines of Swachh Bharat in Vijayawada on October 2 and has decided to continue the programme till Diwali.
Mr Naidu said Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi proposed ‘Make in India’ programme and he has decided to Make Andhra Pradesh a destination for manufacturing centres and popularise ‘Made in Andhra Pradesh.’
He stressed the need for decentralisation of development and added that the development programmes would be linked to four districts of Rayalaseema region. Work will start from the foundation level in the new capital, he said.
