Movie on Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa set to change ‘climax’

Ragini Dwivedi, who is portraying former TN CM, talks about changes in the script after the latest developments
Mumbai: With former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa in jail, director Faisal Saif is changing the climax of his film Amma, which will see South actress Ragini Dwivedi making her Bollywood debut as the beleaguered politician.
“The movie has been shot in five languages. It’s a tribute to Jayalalithaa,” says Ragini. “The film is about a young girl who joins films, becomes an overnight star and enters politics and makes a mark,” says Ragini, adding that Rajpal Yadav is playing an important role in the film.
Talking about her character she adds, “The role is very challenging. I am doing my homework to play the actor-turned-politician and also learning the body language of a dancer and a politician.”
She, however, says that it’s too early to talk about whether the film will stay true to the politician’s life. Talking about Jayalalithaa being jailed, Ragini says, “Yes, with the latest development, there is a change in the climax of our film too. The director is now writing the climax and he will decide how it will be.”
When asked about other characters like Jayalalithaa’s friend Sasikala and also actor-turned-politician, the late M.G. Ramachandran, who had played an important role in Jayalalithaa’s life, Ragini says, “It’s going to be a surprise in the film and it won’t be right to reveal it now.”
Sources say that with the latest development, director Faisal Saif might also make a few changes in the cast and Manoj Bajpai may step in as a police officer.
