Dipankar Dasgupta: Turning real sites into sets for the reel

Mumbai: Dipankar Dasgupta, production designer and the brain behind the magnificent sets of the film Bang Bang, presented director Siddharth Anand his ideas with a few pictures of real locations across the globe. Little did he know how blown away Siddharth would’ve been.
The gorgeously picturised song Tu Meri is a visual treat. Dipankar says, “Siddharth Anand gave me a brief to do a night club for a song that was to be picturised on the protagonist. The situation given to me was that this is the first time they will meet and fall in love instantly. I decided to raise the bar by taking it to open spaces rather than restricting it to a club. I worked on a board which was inspired by a European square.”
