Team 'Happy New Year' to start TV dance reality show
Mumbai: While film promotions have become a mandatory part of TV reality shows, the ‘Happy New Year’ star cast decided to go take it one step further. Instead of making a guest appearance on a daily television dance reality show, they have created their own dance show to promote their film.
‘Dil Se Naachein Indiawaale’ is India’s first reality show that puts zero pressure on its participants. Here dance will be celebrated rather being a prop of stunts and formations. “Dance has become a serious business, we are here to break that” said Boman Irani.
‘Happy New Year’ star cast touted as the ‘angels of happiness’ came to judge the Mumbai auditions. For the first time we saw Bollywood’s superstar Shah Rukh Khan on the other side of the stage as the judge of a reality show.
The show's title is a spin off from the HNY’s popular track ‘Indiawaale’, and has created a huge buzz specifically due to the show’s format. Contestants who dance ‘Dil Se’ (freestyle) will feature in this show.
The auditions began with brief performances by each HNY star starting with sultry Deeepika Padukone, who was still very much in her character. She performed on her special number ‘Lovely’ that received a similar response her character gets in the film. The crowd roared “Mohini Mohini” before she began her dance sequence.
Unlike Deepika, Junior Bachchan and SRK made their grand entries from where the audience was seated. Their entries received major hooting and a large crowd gathered around them. Abhishek was lucky enough to save himself but King Khan was trapped amidst a sea of fans. His entry became so chaotic that his bodyguards and managers had to come to the star’s rescue.
Farah Khan who was the anchor for the cast’s entry was initially worried but as the crowd cleared and everyone got back to their seats, she seemed to gain her composure. The reigning Khan of Bollywood made an entry 10 feet up in air. While he did not give any special performance, he managed to leave everyone charmed with his witty one-liners.
The auditions for ‘Dil Se Naachein Indiawaale’ have begun in Mumbai and will be aired on October 11.
