Panasonic unveils two new 4K Varicam cameras in India
Panasonic has added two new variants to the Varicam series of film production cameras, Varicam HS and Varicam 35, featuring a P2 solid-recording element. Its express P2 card offers quick transfer speeds up to 2.4Gbps, 72 minutes of recording time in 4K/25p mode. The flash memory error correction system in these cameras is equivalent to its RAID system.
Varicam 35 can simultaneously record two different formats and codecs together with its in-camera colour grading function. It comes with a 35mm MOS image sensor and images can be handled in variable frame rates up to 120 frames per second (fps). This camera variant can support different recording formats like 4K and UHD in AVC-Ultra 4K,2K and 1080p HD in AVC-intra 100. Varicam 35 is priced at Rs 40 lakh for the Indian market.

On the other hand, Varicam HS also enables capturing slow motion effects, offers recording in 240fps HD, without cache memory. This camera model can be considered a good choice for making documentaries and SFX slow motion applications.

Varicam 35 and Varicam HS will hit the stores by the end of October.
