More PG medical seats soon
40 to 50 extra PG seats will be available in the next academic year
Hyderabad: The Telangana government has released funds for upgrading and increasing the number of PG medical seats in the three top government hospitals of the state. Upgradation will be taken up under a Central scheme. As per this scheme the Centre would bear 75 per cent of the costs.
The number of PG seats in Gandhi Medical College, Osmania Medical College and Kakatiya MC will be increased. As a result about 40 to 50 extra PG seats will be available in the next academic year. Under the funding scheme, first approved in 2012 by an empowered committee in united AP, Telangana would have to pay Rs 16 crore while the Centre would pay about Rs 65 crore for the upgradation of the three government medical colleges in Telangana.
