In an exclusive chat, TV show Beintehaa’s negative lead and owner of Box Cricket League team Jaipur Joshiley, Kamya Punjabi opens up about cricket, her run on television and how she’s done with clarifying rumours.
What are your plans for your team?
I am very ambitious as far as my team is concerned and we are all here to give it our best. I’ve chosen well and as a team, we won’t let anyone down. The rest is destiny.
How were the team members chosen?
I have been partial, I admit. I’ve chosen friends as my team members because I personally feel that it’s the best way to connect and grow closer to one another. But most importantly, there’s a lot of trust.
Buzz is that the league will be aired like a reality show this season…
It will be aired like any other sport. Yes, there will be more glamour since celebrities are in it. It’s surely grown this year.
The audience isn’t happy with the current track of Beintehaa, with the lead couple Zain-Aaliya being separated... Really?
I’ve been getting a lot of positive feedback for my character, so I am not very clued on this aspect.
You have been linked to Karan Patel in the past, with some reports that you even had a tiff with Pratyusha Banerjee over Karan! What was your reaction to this?
I avoid reacting. Earlier I used to clarify, but now I don’t feel the need to. It’s just a rumour, so why waste time over it?
You were on the previous season of Bigg Boss. What do you think about its current season and the contestants?
I wish them the very best. They are all winners in their own right. Bigg Boss gave me a lot, and I’m sure it will do the same for them.
