A Facebook post from Nokia confirms about the name change
No more Nokia Lumia? Yes, you read it right. Microsoft is planning to rebrand the Lumia series and call it ‘Microsoft Lumia’.
Lumia 730 and 830 can be considered as the last handsets to fall under the brand name, ‘Nokia Lumia’.
On October 21, 2014, Nokia’s official Facebook page post stated, ‘In the coming days, you will receive a message from Facebook about changing the name of this page. We are on the verge of becoming ‘Microsoft Lumia’.
Reports state that even though the Lumia series won’t be Nokia Lumia anymore, the Nokia brand won’t disappear completely. The Verge reported that Nokia will operate as an Independent company, that will move its focus to network infrastructure, instead of smartphone business.
