University of Hyderabad’s in-house challenge
A few students from the S.N. School of Communication distributed rice to poor families
Hyderabad: This Diwali was a special one for a few construction and migrant workers at the University of Hyderabad thanks to a few students from the S.N. School of Communication, who got together and raised funds for a rice-bucket challenge within the university.
Avnish Kumar, a second year MA student at the S.N. School says, “The rice bucket challenge was started by the School of Management Studies, last month. I was watching the video recently and I found that they had nominated our department, so we raised funds and decided to take up the challenge.”
Avnish says 12 bags of rice of 5 kg each were bought and distributed to eight-nine families on campus. “We got the funds together and bought everything, but we decided to give the bags to the families on Diwali,” he adds.
The other departments in the University have now been nominated to take up the challenge.
