Facebook’s ‘Rooms’ chat app for iOS does not require an account
Facebook’s latest app for iOS, Rooms, is an open chat room for Apple devices. And the best part—it does not require an account—you can go anonymous.
Facebook has earlier stated that they will make it mandatory for people to create accounts with real identities. However, with the new app launches, it seems like the social media giant has agreed that there are times when people need their privacy when talking to strangers.
The Rooms app is a chat room, in which you can be completely anonymous. You can create various profiles that suit your mood.
According to a report on Softpedia, Facebook users would find themselves a bit out-of-place since they don’t need to login with any credentials nor can put up their profile picture.
Rooms is a great place for anonymous chat. It would remind you of Yahoo! Chat rooms back in the late nineties where you could simply choose the chat room for discussions and a name for yourself. Rooms allows you to put up pictures, videos and notes.
At present, the app does not have any branding. logos or advertisements, which would state that it is a Facebook developed app.
Rooms is available for free on the Apple App Store, but there is no news about it arriving for Android users.
