Deputy CM Rajaiah says state planning to recruit doctors on a regular basis
Adilabad: Deputy Chief Minister Dr. T. Rajaiah said government doctors in Telangana state will soon be elevated to the status of MPDOs and tahsildars at mandal-level. They would be treated on par with the above officials at government programmes.The deputy chief minister was speaking to mediapersons here on Wednesday. He said that a government order (GO) to this effect would be issued soon. He said that the state government was planning to give incentives to doctors providing quality services to patients.
He said the state government will soon recruit doctors on a regular basis in government hospitals and also teaching staff at RIMS in Adilabad and Nizamabad.Dr Rajaiah, who is also the health minister, said the government was planning to elevate the position of doctors as part of recognition for their services to the society. He said the government would soon add 200 new vehicles to the existing 104 and 108 service ambulances in the state. Funds to buy the vehicles would be allocated in the first budget to be presented in the new state.
The initiative is aimed at improving the emergency services in interior areas, he said. At present, there are 317 ambulances of the 108 emergency service and 200 of the 104 services in the state.
The health minister also said that medical equipment to separate platelets from blood would be installed at 25 government hospitals for the benefit of patients affected with dengue in the state.
However, the deputy chief minister said there were no deaths reported due to dengue in the state. There are 465 positive cases of dengue, including 131 in Adilabad, in the state.
He faulted the private and corporate hospitals for instilling fear among patients about dengue and exploiting them by charging more for the tests. He stressed upon the need to maintain sanitation to prevent spread of diseases.The minister inspected RIMS and inaugurated platelets separation machines at the facility. Later, the minister held a meeting with the elected representatives, including MLAs Koneru Konappa, Indrakaran Reddy, Durgam Chinnaiah, K. Laxmi, Rekha Naik, minister Jogu Ramanna. He also inspected the government hospital at Utnoor and enquired about health of people living in Agency areas.
