Salman Khan books Falaknuma Palace for Rs 2 crore
Salman Khan has booked the entire hotel for two days for sister Arpita’s wedding
Hyderabad: Falaknuma Palace is the place to be seen partying and celebrating this month. And, socialites and celebs are already comparing notes on who has been invited for Salman Khan’s sister Arpita’s wedding at the hotel.
Family friends of the Khans, Venkatesh and Suresh Babu, have received their invites. While Venkatesh will be attending the functions, Suresh Babu will be absent as he is currently wearing the Ayappa Mala and is, therefore, not socialising.
Salman Khan has spent Rs 2 crore to book the entire hotel for two days. The palace, with its 60 rooms, costs around a crore a day. And by booking the entire hotel, Salman has ensured that outsiders won’t gatecrash the festivities by booking a table at one of the restaurants or an appointment at the spa.
While Rs 2 crore has been spent on just the venue and rooms, the décor will further add to the bill. The Khans and their guests will arrive on November 18 and will check out on the 20th. Sources close to the bride say around 250 people have been invited and the wedding ceremony will take place in the lawns.
But Arpita’s marriage is not the only highpoint of the season at the hotel. Falaknuma has been booked by well-known French businessman Jean-Yves Ollivier, who has business interests in the commodities sector in emerging markets, from November 15 to 17 for his 70th birthday celebrations. After spending a year checking out venues, Ollivier’s team chose Hyderabad.
Ollivier, a close friend and adviser to former French President Jacques Chirac, has invited several heads of states from Africa, Prince Michael of Kent, well-known European aristocracy and also many erstwhile Indian Royals.
