Parineet Chopra, that false alarm of sexual harassment on Bigg Boss was not funny

Mumbai: Parineeti Chopra and her two leading men in the upcoming movie ‘Kill Dil’ were recently invited to the Bigg Boss house to promote their film and at the same time interact with the inmates. The episode that aired on November 2, seems to have left her fans aghast. Parineeti has never shied away from championing women’s causes — from talking about periods, yelling at a reporter for framing his sentence inappropriately, or opposing statements such as "girls like it"; vociferous Parineeti had won our hearts.

It has been reported, that Parineeti made a scene in the Bigg Boss house and demanded to be let out because one of the inmates- Ali allegedly ‘touched her inappropriately’. Ali got too close for Parineeti’s comfort while the Kill Dil team were dancing with the inmates. In the episode, Parineeti took the actor to a corner where she confronted him.

With what appeared to be a smug look on her face, the actress repeatedly accused the Bigg Boss inmate of touching her inappropriately while they slow danced to a song. Ali had previously been accused of ‘inappropriately behaviour’ with another participant on the show.

Parineeti put her acting talents to the worst of uses and made it look like Ali really did do something to her. Her conversation with the star, telling him she understood that what he did was ‘unintentional’, made the situation that much more serious and believable.

Ranveer Singh, who was busy doing his ‘own thing’ was left a little baffled when Parineeti suddenly wanted to leave the house and insisted that the door be opened.

While this may seem like any other day in the life of Parineeti Chopra, the actress who voices her opinions (which is a good thing); what didn’t go down well with her fans was that the actress used social evils like ‘molestation’ and ‘sexual harassment’ as a mean to prank Ali. Parineeti later retracted from her false cry and pulled the act off as a part of the promotion.

It so appears that neither Ali Zafar, nor Ranveer were initially aware of this 'prank'. Salman Khan took off on Ali and told him things that almost brought him to tears. After a series of verbal blows to Ali, Salman Khan broke into a laughter followed by the entry of Parineeti and the other actors.

A PRANK! Really? With a history of crusading for women’s issues, Parineeti for one should have known better. Using sexual allegations as a form of joke is the last thing that we expect from the actress.

For every time men and women have stood up to salute the actress, this time around, it has been a huge let down. And when it’s a man in the firing line, it’s very easy to disillusion the world and make everyone against him. Same for Ali who had to face the anger from certain inmates only to realise later that Parineeti was having the last laugh. Ha Ha! And we are not laughing Parineeti.
