Circle Inspector T. Swami caught on CCTV while fleeing
Hyderabad: An affair between a circle inspector and a married woman sub-inspector led to dramatic scenes and a police case at Brindavan Hotel in Abids on Friday night. CI of Karimnagar 3rd Town T. Swami, who was deployed for Assembly bandobust in the city, allegedly visited the woman SI from Warangal at her room in Brindavan Hotel on Friday night, but was caught red handed by her husband, who secretly came to check on his wife.
The scene of the SI’s husband catching them red-handed and the CI running away from the room were caught on the hotel’s CCTV camera.Following a complaint by the SI’s husband the police booked a case of adultery and criminal intimidation against Swami and arrested him. The woman cop is treated as a victim and therefore no charges were slapped against her, sources said.
The SI’s husband, who is a software engineer working in Chennai, came to Hyderabad by flight unannounced to check on her as he doubted her character, a source said.
The drama unfolded at 11 pm in the hotel, where the SI was staying after she came to Hyderabad. The CI who was put up at Dwaraka Lodge in Saifabad went to her room after dinner. “Her husband came to the hotel and knocked on her room. When she opened, he found the CI in the room half-naked.
He forcibly entered the room overcoming his wife and confronted the CI, who threatened him with dire consequences. When the husband tried to call the police, Swami ran away from the room but was caught by the security guards and others,” said a source from the Abids police station. Soon the police arrived following an intimation from the husband and detained the CI.
“We received a complaint from the husband and we booked a case against Swami for adultery and criminal intimidation. We have also arrested the accused,” said Abid SI K. Uday.
Police suspects that the duo was in a relationship for a while and that it had created problems in their family.
