Kangna Ranaut’s unavailability has been bothering producer Karan Johar. Apparently, the actress who is busy shooting for the Tanu Weds Manu sequel and Nikhil Advani’s Katti Batti, has been missing from the promotions of Ungli. While Karan roped in Shraddha Kapoor for an item number at the eleventh hour to boost the promotions, the leading lady is yet to join the team of the much delayed film.
Buzz is that Kangna has been unable to give the required dates for the city promotions. After the success of Queen, Kangna has become a top rung actress whose name adds weight to the project she is associated with. Perhaps that’s why Karan and the rest of his team are depending on her presence to take things a notch higher.
“Currently Kangna is away shooting for her upcoming films. She had completed the film and waited long enough for it to release. Currently, the films she’s shooting for are her priority. The delay in Ungli’s release isn’t really her fault,” says a close source.
Since the film releases in two weeks, Emraan Hashmi and item girl Shraddha have taken charge for now to create a buzz around Ungli. Kangna’s team has assured that she will soon start on the promotions.
