Hats off to Gauahar says Nigaar Khan, after eviction from Bigg Boss 8
Mumbai: Nigaar Khan, who entered Bigg Boss with high hopes, breathes a sigh of relief as she finally got evicted after almost 2 weeks of her stay. In a candid chat with DC she shares how it was like to stay in the BB8 house as a contestant.
How was the whole experience of Bigg Boss season 8 for you?
(After a long pause)
My worst nightmare that I don’t ever want to remember… but I have learnt a lot about myself in those two-weeks. The kind of patience, the level of tolerance that I have, the values and principles my parents have imbibed in me helped me pull through the stay. As a human being I have come out as a winner but just because of the amount of negativity that surrounded me those weeks, I don’t think I will ever put myself in such a situation again.
How different were this year's house and contestants in comparison with the last since you have seen both?
Living there and watching it as a viewer are totally different experiences. Also, last year's contestants were not as much fake. They didn't pretend to be your (Gauahar) friend and backstab. The problem this season is none of them are ready to come out of their zones and say it on the face. They are sweet on the outside and the moment you turn your back they will start bitching about you. So I think in all fairness, last season there were more open people.
Can you now relate to what Gauahar went through in her Bigg Boss journey?
Totally! In the first two days itself when I was there I was like 'Oh my God this is what my sister went through'. She was there for almost fourteen weeks, so for me hats off to Gauahar! Had I entered the house earlier, I would have been able to connect and stay longer. Two weeks is a really short time for me to know the inmates or for them to know me. Playing wildcard especially in this season was totally wrong for me.
Did you expect the elimination?
I was not expecting my elimination but I am glad that I got eliminated. Surviving in that house was difficult because, I do not shy away from expressing my emotions. People who are there are so lost in the game that they have lost the value for emotions.
Were you disappointed with your elimination?
No… Not for a second! Karishma was trying to hold me and say that she was really shocked but I was like ‘yaar khatam karo kissa’ (finish it). I couldn't be happier at this decision. I regreted going there because I was being pushed to the corner to react every minute of the day by Gautam or by the P3G group. I kept my calm and tolerance to all the nonsense through all that was happening because I did not want to lose my self.
Do you think Puneet takes undue advantage of being an elderly person in the house?
Definitely! He is somebody who is elderly in the house but does not know how to gain respect. He has said unfair things about each one of the contestants. He should know how to command respect and not demand respect. He’s trying hard but the saddest part is that not even a single contestant who has come out of that house has spoken good about him and that in it itself shows what kind of a person he is.
Who do you think is playing an unfair game?
Preetam and Praneet.
They are so involved in the P3G group that if they wanted they could come out of the house as heroes. But they seem desperate to stay in the house. I think they should restructure their game plan and be better human beings.
Who do you think you can be friends with, now that you are out of the house?
Nobody! I don’t think any of the inmates can be my friend. I respect Aarya and Upen. Aarya showed calibre. Although we did not get a lot of time together but he took a stand for me and for that I respect him. In the future if we meet again I am sure we will be able to connect.
Although Nigaar is outspoken about the highs and lows of the house, she refused to speak about Gauahar and Kushal's split, who came together during the last season of Bigg Boss. Nigaar also shared that she doesn’t care about whoever wins the show but she feels Karishma and Ali have the maximum chances of winning.
