New Delhi: A day after Trinamool MPs trooped into the Well of the House holding umbrellas, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan warned parliamentarians that she would not be like “those mothers who are blamed for their spoilt children due to their lenient attitude”.
When the Opposition MPs sought to repeat their acts of the day before, Ms Mahajan said she had the power to “punish” them also.
“Main wasi maan nahi ho sakti jiske baare me kaha jaaye ki samay rahta usne apne bachchon ke kaan nahi khichen ( I don’t wish to be such a mother who is accused of not pulling up their children at the right time),” said Ms Mahajan.
