Gang held for mass copying in exam for railway job examinations
Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police’s Special Operations Team (SOT) on Sunday busted a gang which was involved in mass copying using WhatsApp and Bluetooth in the Railway Recruitment Board examinations at various centres in Hyderabad and other places of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The prime accused Machender, a railway employee, procured the examination paper from the centres and shared it with his associates on WhatsApp. They further prepared the relevant answers to the leaked question papers and informed candidates at examination centres through electronic devices via Bluetooth.
Following an alert, SOT sleuths raided various examination centres in the city and arrested about 30 persons, including 10 candidates, on Sunday. The candidates are from middle class and lower middle class families and the examinations were being conducted for Class ‘D’ posts which include helpers and sweepers in the South Central Railway.
According to the police, Machender collected Rs 5 lakh from each candidate and provided electronic devices for transmission of information.
