Puzzlephone: A modular smartphone by 2015
Whenever you buy a shiny new phone, you promise yourself to use it carefully and for a long time. However, before you know it, you end up damaging the display or your battery starts giving a problem, and then you off course start eyeing another brand new one.
A kickstarter project by Circular Devices aims at solving the problem of having to buy a new unit all together when your smartphone starts to give even a slight issue. After Google’s Project Ara, Circular Devices has come up with a new modular smartphone, called the Puzzlephone.
The Puzzlephone allows a user to replace the processor and the camera, the battery and the display of a smartphone, which means you can personalize your smartphone at both operating system and hardware levels. A user can essentially build a new handset altogether by just replacing the three most important components of a smartphone. And the cherry on the cake is the pocket friendly cost to upgrade your smartphone.
The Puzzlephone project is still in the pipeline and is expected to be available in 2015.
