City terror: Hyderabad woman escapes taxi driver’s kidnap bid
Hyderabad: A driver allegedly tried to kidnap a 23-year-old woman when she was coming back from the Shamshabad airport on Thursday afternoon. She raised an alarm and called her father from her mobile phone who alerted the cops.
The driver escaped after dropping her at the APPA Junction on the Outer Ring Road. Shamshabad police is trying to track down the suspect following a complaint from the victim.
According to the victim, a resident of SR Nagar and a native of Siddipet in Medak district, she had come to the airport in the same car to attend a job interview for the post of a receptionist.
“She got in the car from Mehdipatnam and went for the interview to the airport. As the driver agreed to drop her back, she got into the same car on the way back. When he diverted from the route, she panicked,” said Shamshabad DCP Ramesh Naidu.
