Mumbai: Former co-stars Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra may have stopped working with each other, but their fans seem to be interested in bringing them back together on screen. While Akshay announced that he’d love to work with PC if an apt script comes their way, the actress was caught off guard when asked to react to his statement.
At a recent event Priyanka blurted out that she cannot believe Akshay would ever say something about the possibility of them working together. “I have no say in the casting of my films. I don’t decide my co-stars; my directors do,” said a frazzled PC. The ones close to the actress feel that her retort was a subtle way of brushing off Akshay’s attempt to make amends.
The industry is well aware that there is a dearth of top actresses to be paired opposite top guns like Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan. “For a long time now, Akshay has been sending out indirect hints to win back his lucky charm actresses like Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra,” says a source. The fall out between Kumar and Chopra was due to their alleged liaison. Akki’s statement and his quest to win back PC hasn’t gone unnoticed. But it is Priyanka’s reaction to his words that has made the whole episode a lot more interesting.
