Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena officially registered as political party by EC
Hyderabad: The Election Commission on Thursday officially registered actor-politician Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena as a political party under the section 29A of the Representation of People Act 1951.
The EC has set aside the objections received to the registration of party in response to the public notice published in the newspapers treating the said objections as unsustainable.
Kalyan is actor-turned politician Chiranjeevi’s brother. The 43-year-old star had campaigned extensively in support of the TDP-BJP combine in undivided Andhra Pradesh for the general elections earlier this year.

Kalyan belongs to the Kapu caste, which has a strong presence in east and west Godavari districts and Vishakapatnam.
His campaign is believed to be one of the key factors in the success of the TDP-BJP combine in the elections.
The party has already applied for both the states; Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, for local body election purposes and can avail the Common Symbols under provisions of paragraph 10B of the Symbols (reservation and allotment) offer.
