NIA loses track of remaining 3 Kalyan IS recruits

NIA officials said the development has been communicated to the Central government

Mumbai: The NIA had been in touch with the remaining three Kalyan boys through Areeb Majeed for five days consecutively last week, until they couldn’t be reached over what is suspected to be connectivity issues, according to sources in the agency.

Officials said the boys have pleaded to be brought back and arrangements are being made for the same.

“We have been speaking with the boys after getting their contact details in Iraq from Areeb Majeed. They have described the situation there, their current location and activities and said they too want to return to India like Areeb. Two of the boys are scared for their lives over the violence there,” a source said.

NIA officials said the development has been communicated to the Central government, which has begun making arrangements for their return.
