Micromax, on December 18, launched its much-awaited Yu smartphone called Yureka. The smartphone will be available for purchase on Amazon for Rs 8,999 by January 2015. The registration for the Yu Yureka will begin on Amazon from December 19.
The dual-SIM Yu Yureka is a 5.5-inch phablet that features a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protected HD 720p display. Running on Cynogen 11, based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system, the smartphone is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC with an 8-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz each and supplied with 2GB of RAM. The internal storage provided is 16GB, which can be further expanded using a microSD card.
The Yu Yureka features a 13MP primary camera with Sony IMX135 sensor and a 5MP secondary camera. On the connectivity front, the smartphone features dual SIM support, LTE support, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth.
Micromax’s Yu Yureka is fuelled by a 2,500mAh battery, which according to the company powers the phone for 7 hours on LTE, and up to 210 hours on standby mode.
