Bengaluru: The state police made special arrangements to shift the body of Bengaluru blast victim, Bhavani Devi, to Tamil Nadu on Monday. The body of the 38-year-old left Victoria hospital at 2.20 pm after the autopsy.
The police arranged three vehicles for her family and relatives. Over 30 relatives of the victim along with a special team of five policemen left for Chennai.
A police inspector and a woman constable from Bengaluru police and a deputy superintendent of police and a constable from Chennai, who had come to Bengaluru, left with the victim’s body.
Mr Harisekaran, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime), told Deccan Chronicle, “We arranged three vehicles for the family of the deceased, including an ambulance for emergency. A woman constable along with the police inspector accompanied the body to Chennai."
Auto driver to get Hosmat’s Good Samaritan award
Autorickshaw driver Narasimha Murthy had parked his vehicle near Empire Hotel when he heard the blast on Sunday night.
He immediately rushed to the spot and even as onlookers were scurrying away from the spot, he helped a severely injured Bhavani into his vehicle and rushed to Mallya Hospital.
“Mr Murthy rose to the occasion and tried to save Bhavani's life. We recognise his service and are planning to present him with this year's Good Samaritan Award," said Dr Ajit Benedict Royan, vice-president. Hosmat Hospital.
