Tests or without, how long will MS Dhoni be around?

ICC World Cup 2015 could be the captain’s final round

Mumbai: Much has been said and done about the longevity of Mahendra Singh Dhoni and on Tuesday, he preferred to take the best route – retirement from Tests. No wonder he is tired answering people, satisfying the experts and selectors. Now, the question is how long can he stick to limited overs with so many youngsters waiting in the queue.

The idea to have one wicket-keeper for all formats is to keep the player fit and be ready to tackle any situation, it also creates better understanding if the playing eleven is maintained. Hence, Dhoni has to pull off a blinder to stay afloat. His competitors being the in-form Sanju Samson from Kerala, Wriddhiman Saha from Bengal, it could also be former colleague Dinesh Karthik.

The ICC World Cup 2015 could be the man’s final test of character. There is chance that he might hang up his pads for the good if India fail to defend their title in Australia-New Zealand.
