Victims’ kin still await indemnity
Hyderabad: The relatives of victims of the Gokul Chat explosion were waiting at the CM’s camp office to give a letter given by Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi.
“Even after making four representations to Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali we were sent back every time saying there was no budget. “We then approached MP Asaduddin Owaisi, who gave a letter addressed to the Chief Minister and wanted us to meet the CM at the Secretariat. But we were not allowed to meet anyone there,” he added.
Mr Raheem wants at least a health card, through which he can continue his treatment, aid from the CM’s relief fund for his treatment fees and a government job for his son.
Mr B. Anjaiah, who had lost three family members including his 14-year-old daughter in the blasts, said, “We are tired of running around officials. Hoping for a response from the new Chief Minister, we went to meet him at the CM’s camp office, but we were arrested and sent to the Sanathnagar police station,” said Mr Anjaiah, a salesman and resident of Uppal.
“Government had promised jobs, but nothing happened,” he added.
Panjagutta police said that it was a preventive arrest. The Chief Minister was in the camp office and since the group did not have an appointment and were trying to stage a protest, they were arrested.
