Prabhu Deva is back to acting
Mumbai: The fiasco that was Action Jackson forgotten, and Prabhu Deva has now moved on. He is currently in Las Vegas, facing the camera for his choreographer colleague, Remo D’Souza’s film ABCD2.
Speaking on the phone from there, Prabhu said, “It’s been a while since I faced the camera. I had done ABCD for Remo two years ago and was so busy in the interim, directing films back-to-back. I insist I’m not an actor. But Remo thinks otherwise. So here I am,” he said, adding “My co-stars, Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor, are so good that I have to be on my toes.” About the critical and commercial failure of Action Jackson, Prabhu said that he had put the experience behind him. “Some films work, some don’t. That’s okay. The audiences didn’t like the film. It’s as simple as that. But I don’t understand why people go on about it. It isn’t the worst film ever made. Even if it is, enough said.”
Prabhu dismissed rumours that his next directorial venture, Singh is Bling, had been indefinitely postponed because of the failure of Action Jackson. “We are starting Singh is Bling in February 2015. Akshay Kumar and I really enjoyed working together in Rowdy Rathore. We hope to create something entertaining again.”
Apparently, Prabhu felt guilty about the failure of Action Jackson only for Ajay Devgn’s sake. He says that he plans to make another film with Devgn in the near future to make amends for the debacle.
