Sunanda Pushkar death case: Shashi Tharoor is shocked
Thiruvananthapuram: Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on Tuesday said he was ‘shocked’ to hear that Delhi police had filed a case of murder against unknown persons in connection with the death of his wife Sunanda Pushkar.
In a Facebook post, soon after the news came in about Delhi police case, Tharoor said; “I am stunned to hear that the Delhi Police have filed a case of murder against unknown persons in the demise of my late wife Sunanda.”
The Congress MP demanded a comprehensive probe and extended full cooperation to the police for bringing out the truth. “Needless to say I am anxious to see this case is investigated thoroughly and continue to assure the Police of my full co-operation,” he said in the post.
“Although we never thought of any foul play in the death of my wife, we all want that a comprehensive investigation be conducted and that the unvarnished truth should come out.”
Mr Tharoor sought complete details from the police on the basis of which it had registered the case. “I join all members of Sunanda’s family in asking for full information about the basis on which the Police have come to this conclusion,” he said.
The Congress leader said he had not been provided with the copies of post mortem report and Central Forensic Science Laboratory report till date. “We repeat our request for a copy of these reports to be provided to us immediately,” the Congress MP said. Within three hours, as many as 1172 people liked the Facebook post, 165 commented mainly supporting Mr Tharoor and 111 Facebook users shared it.
