A doting elder sister
Sanjjanna’s sister Nikki Galrani is making her debut in Tollywood opposite Sunil in a film being directed by Vasu Varma and produced by Dil Raju. Sanjjanna talks to DC about her sister’s entry into T’town and more.
“When I made my debut in Tollywood, it was a do or die situation. As an actor, I had to prove myself against all odds and learn from my mistakes. I had no guidance.
But, it won’t be the same for Nikki. After being a successful actor in Kannada, Tamil and the Malayalam film industries, I am happy that my little sister is stepping in a new industry,” she says.
“Nikki was approached with many scripts, and we felt that it was the right time for her to make an entry in Tollywood. When it comes to movies, she discusses her projects with me.
After listening to this script, we were convinced that the movie will be a perfect launch pad for her in the Telugu film industry,” she adds.
With films lined up for release and busy shooting a Kannada movie, how does she manage time for her sister?
Sanjjanna says, “Nobody can be so busy, that they have no time for their family. I am busy with meetings and shootings, but I make time for Nikki’s career, being the elder sister.”
Will Nikki’s entry create a competition for her in T’town? Sanjjanna says, “ I have had my share of success and it is Nikki’s time to prove herself as an actor. I want her to be the next Trisha or Nayantara in Tollywood.”
