My patience has paid off: Yash Sinha
After his stint in Nach Baliye, it almost seemed like Yash Sinha had disappeared. The actor is now back on television after almost a year. He portrays the role of Kabir, a television crime reporter on Code Red.
Talking about this prolonged absence from the small screen, he says, “After Nach Baliye, I wanted to do something different. There were a lot of offers pouring in, but I wanted to do something unusual. When Kabir was offered to me, I knew the wait was worthwhile.”
Actors are known to do an extensive amount of research to get into the skin of special characters. We ask Yash how did he go about preparing for the role, and he says, “Anshuman Kishore Singh, the producer-director of the show was a crime reporter himself and he gave me some vital inputs to shape my character.
Besides that, I got in touch with my friends in the media industry and met a few crime reporters to equip myself better for the role,” he said.
He sheds more light on his character. “Kabir is the face of all the crime reporters who have a conscience. The approach of the show is different as there are no heroics or gory details to entertain the audience.
We have tried to bring alive a sensitive side through the eyes of a perseverant and courageous reporter,” elaborates Yash, adding that the show is far from the run-off-the-mill crime shows ruling prime time television.
Working with Colors is homecoming for Yash. The actor’s last show Bhagyavidhata was with the same channel and it did manage to bring him into the limelight.
“I was wanting to get back with Colors for a long time now and this was the right time to collaborate with them again. My patience has finally paid off,” he adds.
His wife Amrapali Gupta plays Tanveer in Qubool Hai, a negative character in the show. Yash finds it ironic that his wife has criminal shades to her character, while he plays a crime reporter, someone on the opposite end of spectrum.
