‘Telugu films... why not?’
Arjun Rampal, who has had a very satisfying Bollywood journey, is open to performing pivotal main lead characters in Telugu and Tamil!
“I am content with the kind of films I am getting now. I want to do challenging roles so I act in just one film a year. I believe in doing quality work. I am rejoicing at the fact that all the good directors are approaching me as they see me in different roles. What more can I ask for?” said Arjun.
Answering our question “are you open to doing Telugu films?” Arjun says, “Oh… why not? I am open to doing films in any language. Creativity on screen needs to be expressive. Language can be managed. An actor will have to work on his diction, that’s it!!”
Citing the example of Jacqueline Fernandez, he adds, “I was surprised to hear that Jacqueline was the female lead opposite me in Roy, because there was a lot of talking and very tough dialogues involved.
“I was wondering how she would manage Hindi. To my surprise she would mug up her dialogues and did just fine! A little improvisation from my end however, would make her nervous,” he laughed adding, “If I need to do a Telugu or Tamil film I will definitely have to take lessons in Telugu or Tamil. This will enable me to speak the language fluently and with the right fluency I can surely work in regional films. I am open to performing roles in films from any region. Usually, we think in English and speak our dialogues in Hindi and we have managed jolly-well,” Arjun says.
Tollywood directors and producers are sure to have their doors wide open for the hunk!
