‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 6? to introduce horror element
The new season hosted by director Rohit Shetty will have a tinge of horror along with death defying stunts
Mumbai: The new season of ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi: Darr Ka Blockbuster Returns‘, hosted by ‘Chennai Express’ director Rohit Shetty, will have a tinge of horror along with death defying stunts. The show will have a new segment ‘Darr Ka Ghar’ where fear will follow the 14 celebrity contestants — Ashish Chaudhary, Hussain Kuwajwerwala, Harshad Arora, Iqbal Khan, Saagarika Ghatge, Sana Khan, Rashmi Desai, Asha Negi, Riddhi Dogra, Meiyang Chang, Siddharth Bharadwaj, Nathalia Kaur, Archana Vijaya, Nandish Sandhu and Kabaddi star Rakesh Kumar — after they complete their challenges.
The ‘Darr Ka Ghar’ will have a unique theme every week like ‘insomnia week’ where the contestants will be terrified with horror elements to test their power and patience.
Shetty said the horror element has been introduced to the show just to raise its entertainment quotient.
“We brought a new element this time in the form of horror to show what happens when they go back. The whole day they worked hard and slogged and what happens when their resting nest is not so welcoming,” Rohit told reporters here during the launch of the show.
The director, who is returning as the host of Colors show, feels the stunts are more nerve-wrecking this time. “The stunts which we have designed this time are tougher than the previous seasons. When I heard the names of the contestants, I was worried whether they will be able to do it or not. But they surprised me with their efforts and persistence,” Rohit said. The show, which is going on air from February 7 and was shot in Capetown, South Africa, will also shed the image of ‘delicate bahus’ of TV actresses as they perform death-defying stunts.
“We have an image that Rashmi, Asha and others are very delicate. But this show will change their image from bahus to strong women. I think they have immense will power. They are not trained stunt man. They are just actors,” Rohit said.
The director feels that this batch of participants are the most friendly ones, with everyone cheering for others. “They are very friendly to each other. They make fun of each other everytime but when it comes to task they cheer for each other too. This time no body gave up any task and completed them in their best way,” he said.
