After Tollywood, Chandru heads to Bollywood!

He is currently in talks with a leading producer for the Hindi remake of 'Charminar'

Mumbai: With his most successful film Charminar starring Lovely Star Prem and Meghana Goenkar earned him the prestigious state awards, for both as the director and producer of the film, R Chandru's lucky charm seems to have struck more gold with opportunities flooding for him. After his Telugu directorial Krishnama Kalapindi Iddarani, which is the remake of Charminar, the talented film maker is making all the right moves to enter Bollywood.

On winning state award, Chandru says, "My father used to tease me all the time and when I called him after state awards were announced, he baffled on what it is!" He also said that he is in talks with a leading producer about his Bollywood project and reportedly Sushanth Singh Rajput, who played a cameo in the controversial PK film is being considered for the lead role for the Hindi remake of Charminar.

Meanwhile his other Sandalwood project Male starring Prem and Amulya, which he is producing and being directed by Tejas is also set for release. Chandru who is also known for his marketing skills to reach more audience, has planned to launch the audio of Male in Hassan. His earlier film Brahma starring Upendra and Pranitha Subhash made records over satellite rights and the audio was launched in Hubli in a grand style.

Whereas Chandru has also committed to a mega project starring Century Star Shivarajkumar, and only after its completion, he plans to head to Bollywood. "I am indebted to all those who had faith in my work by giving me opportunity to work. I will always stay connected to Sandalwood by making more films in Kannada and giving opportunity to young and talented directors," he says before signing off.
