Late music director Chakri’s office attacked

Police find burnt sofa on ground floor, operation on to find attackers

Hyderabad: The office of late music director Chakri in the Srinagar colony of Banjara Hills was attacked on Monday night. Chakri’s brother Mahith Narayan has lodged a complaint with the Banjara Hills police station alleging that attackers set office furniture on fire. Later, Chakri's wife, Ms. Sravani also approached the police with the same complaint. Meanwhile, sources said the tug of war between Charkri’s wife and his family for his properties is continuing.

When police examined the place they found a sofa burnt on the ground floor and some other damage. However, the cops are yet to find out who is behind the act. “We have received two complaints, one from his wife and the other one from his brother, and we have booked a case,” said Banjara Hills inspector Murali Krishna. The attackers is suspected to have broken into the locked office which had no security guard, sources said.

The incident occurred as the fight between Chakri’s wife and his family intensified. Earlier Sravani and her in-laws locked horns and the former approached the police alleging harassment and torture.
Sravani had lodged a complaint with the Jubilee Hills police seeking action against her in-laws who she alleged was trying to kick her out from the house.

The police had booked a case against six people including Chakri’s mother Vidyavathi and brother Mahith Narayana for criminal intimidation and domestic violence against Chakri’s wife Sravani.
Later, Chakri’s mother and brother lodged another complaint demanding a fresh investigation into his death and they said Chakri must have been murdered.
