CBI raids 20 places ‘cotton’officers

The CBI has registered cases regarding irregularities against Mr Rao

Warangal: The CBI was ordered to conduct raids in 20 places across India in Hyderabad, Warangal, Karimnagar, Guntur, Mumbai and Nagpur on Thursday after the HC realised that irregularities have taken place in cotton purchases between 2004 and 2007. The home of the former Warangal cotton purchase officer, Nagamangeshwar Rao, was raided and the CBI recovered a huge amount of cash and gold and silver biscuits.

The CBI found Rs 30 lakh cash, 30 kg gold biscuits and 30 kg silver biscuits. Huge investments in other places in the name of other Cotton Corporation of India Ltd. officers are also under examination. The CBI has registered cases regarding irregularities against Mr Rao.
