Match-fixing: ‘My name is Lou Vincent and I’m a cheat’
Mumbai: First it was Pakistani pace bowler Mohammad Amir and now it is New Zealand opener Lou Vincent who have been used by the International Cricket Council (ICC) to issue an emotional video message to players for the World Cup tournament.
"My name is Lou Vincent and I'm a cheat", with these words the 36-year-old ex-batsman has cautioned the current players.
"Lou is happy to help the ICC as and when he can and will do so when the time is right. Lou knows how his confession affected the game and has every intention to help anti-corruption in the future. I will support him in any way he needs me to", his wife, Susie said exclusively from New Zealand.
On July 2014, Lou Vincent was life-banned. Susie married to him two months ago.
"Lou and I married in December last year. It was small but a beautiful wedding day and he is focusing his time on his family and working hard as a builder for now", she added.
"He will always regret his actions, but he is proud for having turned a corner and is working hard to move forward, having learnt a great deal from his mistakes.
"It is how you deal with your mistakes. Facing them is the key, not hiding from them. It is very hard and a painful thing to do but it is the best thing for him and for the game of cricket too", she further added.
"Lou feels anything that can help educate players from his personal experience is a huge positive,” she signed off.
