Oppo’s R5 Gilded Limited Edition smartphone launched in India for Rs 29,990

Touted as the ‘iPhone 6 killer’, Oppo R5 Gilded Limited Edition smartphone has gone on sale in India. A variant of its slimmest smartphone, R5 Gilded is Oppo’s high-end smartphone, which comes with a price tag of Rs 29,990. The smartphone is available to pre-book at stores in India.

Oppo plans to make only 10,000 units of the smartphone globally, however, it is not clear how many of those will be available for the Indian market.

The Oppo R5 Gilded Limited Edition smartphone flaunts a chic gold finish on the edges of the device. Running on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, the smartphone is powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core 64-bit processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage.

The Gilded R5 features a 5.2-inch full-HD AMOLED display. It sports a 13MP primary camera with Sony Exmor IMX214 BSI sensor and a 5MP front facing camera with 83degree wide-angle lens. The smartphone is fuelled by a 2000mAh battery, which comes with Oppo’s VOOC charging technology that promises to charge 75 per cent of the battery in 30-minutes.

On the connectivity front, the Oppo R5 Gilded Limited Edition features 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.0 and GPS.
