Archana Vijaya is the latest to be out of Khatron Ke Khiladi Darr Ka Blockbuster Returns. Interestingly, she tied the knot just a few days after her elimination from the show. Ask her why she took up the show so close to her wedding and she says, “I am adventurous and a traveller at heart. Every year I make it a point to visit a new country. I was offered the show before, but somehow it never worked out. I got married a month after I shot for the show and my in-laws were horrified by my decision, but I knew I wanted to go for it.”
Sharing her experience she says, “I enjoyed the stunts involving height and water, but the creepy crawlies you cannot prepare for. Your first instinct is to say ‘I quit’. My elimination was a case of bad luck. I was competing with five boys and could not beat my fellow kabbadi champion. My mother prayed so hard that I get eliminated. She was worried that I would come to the wedding with a broken nose or head. She was the happiest when I informed her I’m out.”
Speaking of the wedding, Archana adds, “Soon after I returned from the shoot, I flew to Thailand as we had a destination wedding. I resumed work three days after the wedding, as I had to shoot in Udaipur. Now the IPL is starting so I will be flying to Dubai. After that I’ll get busy with IPL promo shoot, press conferences etc. So I’ve reserved the honeymoon for post-IPL. It will be a well-deserved one.”
RGV turns down Nach Baliye
The team of Nach Baliye (that is being produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms, this time around) and Star Plus have been approaching a lot of director-producers from Bollywood and TV, with their better halves, apart from actors. A source reveals, “Among the names approached was director Ram Gopal Varma. But he turned down the offer without stating any reasons. From TV, J.D. Majethia and wife have been approached.”
MasterChef heads to Dubai
After Kerala, we now hear Masterchef India is headed to an international location. The judges, contestants and crew will be flying to Dubai for a 10-day shoot in the coming days. There is double the excitement as chef Sanjeev Kapoor has his restaurant in Dubai. A source says, “We might shoot one episode at Sanjeev Kapoor’s restaurant.”
