Makers of ‘Hunterrr’ asked to reword ‘objectionable content’
Mumbai: Sex comedy Hunterrr has been asked to clean up its language before the release this week. Says a source from Central Board of Film Certification, “The trailer was passed by the previous CBFC team and contained a lot of objectionable content. We’re aware that Hunterrr’s a sex comedy and went ahead with as many risqué dialogues as we could.”
The CBFC suggested that instead of beeping the objectionable dialogues, the team could re-record them with cleaner content to avoid jerks in the soundtrack. Luckily for the production house Phantom (basking in the NH10 glory) re-recording wasn’t that much of a hassle.
Says a source, “We did change the dialogues and it wasn’t that difficult because the actors (Gulshan Devaiah, Radhika Apte and Sai Tamhankar) were relatively free and very supportive. Had it been A-listers, it would have been impossible to rework the dialogues. We now have an ‘A’ certificate.”
In the meantime a controversy has broken out over Hunterrr co-producer Anurag Kashyap’s comments about Grand Masti. Kashyap said that he wouldn’t see Grand Masti even if he was paid '5 crores for it. The comment hasn’t gone down too well with Grand Masti writer Milap Zaveri.
A source from Phantom said, “We have no control over what Anurag says. We do not stand by his comments on Grand Masti. Filmmaker Indra Kumar, who we all grew up admiring, directed it. Hunterrr is a sex comedy too. There is no need to act holier-than-thou about our film being superior. When naked, everyone looks the same.”
