AIB, Superwoman, The Viral Fever gear up for YouTube FanFest in Mumbai
Mumbai: In what seems like the most-awaited event of 2015, YouTube Fan Fest is back and this time has risen up a notch in its approach. The fest that takes place every year, with over thousands of fans, recently had a pre-fan fest event with all the rising talents of the YouTube network.
Among the popular faces were Sam Tsui, Superwoman, Abish Matthew, Kurt Schneider and team Enna Da Rascalas. Celebrating the success of online creators in India, the event also celebrated a new milestone reached by The Viral Fever (TVF) and All India Bachod’s (AIB) success for reaching a mass following of over a million subscribers.

In this competitive field of mass communication and consumption, it is easy to get unnoticed even if you share good content. Recent times have seen few channels emerge as the kings of this medium and get a handful of subscribers.
The new age is all about ‘the give and take’ relationship between the curators and the masses. Where some call them fandom, there are few in the lot who like to be friends with their fans. “My fans are my family,” says Lily Singh aka Superwoman.

Technology has come a long way from just being a corporate entity to becoming a household commodity. “India has always been a Bollywood and traditional media loving country and now we’re seeing online stars like TVF and AIB unleash a new kind of Indian entertainment. We’are excited about the growth of content creation in Englsih, Hindi and regional languages alike,” said Gautam Anand, Director Content and Partnership, APAC YouTube.

This year YouTube Fan Fest has presenters from all over the globe, some of whom have come to India for the very first time. “The traffic in India scares me,” shares Sam Tsui, who is an American musician and internet celebrity.
31 stars will take the center stage on the 20th of March at the NSCI stadium from comedians, video bloggers, musicians, cooks to the fashionistas.
