Microsoft to put Windows 10 on Xiaomi's Mi 4
Microsoft is trying to invite individuals to use its soon-to-be launched operating system - Windows 10, by making it compatible on PCs and smartphones running on Android OS. The tech giant has also announced its plans of offering its new Windows 10 to all Windows users.
In order to expand the usability of the upcoming Windows 10, Microsoft has partially tied up with Xiaomi, to allow Mi users to try out Windows on their smartphone. Microsoft made an official announcement regarding the agreement signed with Xiaomi at the WinHEC (Windows Hardware Engineering Community) in Shenzhen, China. The tech giant also stated that ‘Xiaomi Mi 4 power users will be invited to help test Windows 10’ on the official blog of Windows.
Windows 10 will be available in the form of a flashable ROM on Mi 4 handsets. ‘This Windows 10 build will not be running on top of Android nor be available as a dual-boot option’, said Hugo Barra, Vice President of Xiaomi, Global . ‘A group of Mi 4 users will be handpicked to test out the Technical Preview of WP OS first hand’, as per the announcement made at the conference.
Meanwhile, Antonio Monaco has posted several images of Mi 4 units running the Windows 10 Technical Preview on Twitter. Here’s how the interface will appear:
