Movie Review 'Krishna Leela': A ‘real’ entertainer
Ajai Rao playing a dual role as producer and lead actor, one could not have asked for more
Cast: Ajai Rao, Mayuri, Rangayana Raghu, Achyuth Kumar
Director: Shashank
Ratings: 4.5 stars
After delivering five back to back hit movies, the talented director Shashank is back with his best, for a huge sixer! The director, who made his debut with ‘Sixer’, has set a new standard for himself with Krishna Leela. Though the movie is ‘based’ on a real life incident, the narration and the way it is treated is simply entertaining and engaging.
Every aspect of the movie, which kick-starts with a ‘missed call’ is just cannot be missed.
With Ajai Rao playing a dual role as producer and lead actor, one could not have asked for more, and easily is one of his best performances till date. An alcoholic father, mother and two sisters to be taken care of, Krishna (Ajai Rao) is a very hard working school van driver with rarely any ‘life’ left for him until he gets a missed call on his cell phone! This missed call does not lead to love, but to a ‘one-sided’ marriage.
The debutant actress Mayuri is definitely a talent to watch out for in future. The casting is simply brilliant here, as every character in ‘Krishna Leela’ brings a great essence and treat for the audience as there is never a dull moment. It is also earns extra brownie points on making the audience experience and savour the moment, just like a good and tasty meal!
With sensible narration of a real ‘incident’ as a base, the director has filled it up with proper toppings – humour, drama and emotions. Once again, do not miss out on the prank call by the college girl (Mayuri) to Krishna and the way it turns his boring life into an adventurous one. Special mention goes to Rangayana Raghu and Achyuth Kumar, for outstanding performances that could take them far and bring in a couple awards as well.
