12 Kannada singers set to sing ‘on-screen’ for ‘Melody’

In Bollywood’s Om Shanthi Om, several leading actors expressed their solidarity by making guest appearance in a song that features Shah Rukh Khan along with many renowned celebrities from the industry.

The trend seemed to have caught on in Sandalwood too in films like Bhajarangi and Vajrakaya.

In a step further, director Nanjunda and composer L.N. Shastri have planned a mega project with at least 50 songs! Yes you read that right ‘50 songs’ and it will also feature at least one dozen Kannada singers making guest appearance on-screen.

The entire film will also be released as a 150- minute music album before its theatrical release.

"In times when Sandalwood is mostly dominated by Bollywood singers, the extravagant project with 50 songs will involve only Kannada singers", says director Nanjunda.

‘Melody’, the film they previously worked on, had six songs that has a duration of around 30 minutes in the film.

When asked the same to the music composer L.N. Shastri, he says, “It is not like that there will be any dialogues in the film. We are trying to depict every scene with a song or with a lyrical touch; it can be either in bits or through a typical song with the duration of 3-4 minutes. Only a romantic subject allows such huge number of songs to be incorporated in a script, and the director Nanjunda has shown immense faith in it. We are confident that the audience will experience a soothing musical journey."
