HTC reveals the first look of HTC One M8s with 13MP camera
HTC has silently unveiled a new handset - HTC One M8s on its official website. This smartphone is basically an upgraded version of the HTC One M8.
HTC One M8s is a 5-inch smartphone, with a metallic body. The grey, gold and silver models of HTC One M8s offer 2GB of RAM and 16GB of in-built storage capacity. Users will also be allowed to expand the storage of HTC One M8s up to 128GB via microSD card.
So what’s the difference between the HTC One M8s and HTC One M8?
1. Operating system, thickness and User Interface
The HTC One M8 as well as HTC One M8s feature a 5-inch (1080 x 1920 pixels) display. However, there’s a slight difference in the UI and thickness of these handsets. HTC One M8s is 9.6 mm thin and offers a HTC Sense 7.0 version of UI. Whereas, HTC One M8 is 9.4 mm thin and comes with HTC Sense UI 6.0.
2. Processor and Operating system
HTC One M8s is powered by a Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system. On the other hand, the HTC One M8 of 2014 runs on Android v4.4.2 OS and is equipped by a Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor.
3. Camera
The HTC One M8 smartphone of 2014 sports a dual 4MP primary camera. Whereas, its upgraded version - HTC One M8s features a 13MP rear camera. HTC hasn’t upgraded the front camera and introduced a 5MP on HTC One M8s as well.
4. Battery
HTC’S newly introduced One M8s has a larger battery as compared to its previous version of One M8. i.e. HTC One M8s is fuelled by a Li-Po 2840 mAh battery and the HTC One M8 smartphone is powered by a Li-Po 2600 mAh battery.
On the connectivity front, HTC One M8 and HTC One M8s supports NFC, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, DLNA and 4G LTE.
At present, the handset will be available only in the European market. However, the market price of HTC One M8s hasn’t been revealed yet. Media reports speculate the HTC One M8s to launch in India soon, which will be likely priced between Rs 30,000 to Rs 50,000.
