Emraan Hashmi reveals the secret behind his invisible kiss

The actor said the only kiss he hasn't attempted yet is in mid-air

Mumbai: Breaking the niche build for themselves is not what every actor aims to do with a career that has already been established. Emraan Hashmi with his upcoming flick ‘Mr. X’ is all set to shed the boy next-door image and get into the skin of an invisible man.

The film, which is a baby of Vikram Bhatt, took years to make since it was first conceptualised in 2002 with the title ‘Gayab’.

Ask Emraan how the journey was and he says, "It was very easy as there was very limited days of shoot for me and I was not required in so many sequences. The main work had to be put in by the VFX team who were constantly working day and night, everyday, diligently for 11-12 months.”

Not all actors are up to essay a role as challenging as this one. However Emraan says it is easy for an actor to play an invisible character for his film. “It is easier for an actor to play an invisible character, as usually we have to clock in say 90 days for a film. This film required me for just 60 days. But nonetheless it was physically demanding in some scenes and emotionally demanding in others."

Emraan, who has had numerous instances of kissing her co-star in every film he works, barring one or two, revealed how he didn't kiss Amyra in the underwater kissing scene. However, when asked about the invisible kiss, the onscreen serial kisser passes the question to Amyra saying that she would be the best person to answer. The actor therefore revealed that instead of him kissing Amyra underwater, it was his 3D model that took the plunge. "I assure you it was nothing close to what would have been if I was there," he joked.

Emraan further went on to say that this kiss was the only one that was left as he had already done several types of conventional romantic kisses on screen. "The only kiss which I haven't done yet is mid-air. I keep saying that I will accomplish that in the next films to come," he said.

Emraan plays an invisible man in the film, Raghuram Rathore, who is out to take revenge on the people who have wronged him and the society. The film is said to have used modern VFX techniques that has taken months to complete.

Meanwhile speaking on his upcoming projects, the actor states that shooting for the biopic on Mohammad Azharuddin has been quite a task for him. "Azhar has been very generous, he flies down, he has been practicing with me for quite sometime now. If you are an Indian then there is something in our DNA that connects us with cricket, give us a bat, we just want to bat."

Prepping up for the film, Emraan and popular cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin practice almost for 50 overs everyday. "He is a very wristy player. Just for getting his leg glance right, I almost broke my wrist twice," shares Emraan.

While actors have to workout according to the demands of the script in their films, Emraan Hashmi says he didn’t work out at all for this one. "I have stopped working out because of this film, because it is a different kind of physical form. We are still working on that," he shared.

Mr X releases on April 17. Produced by Vishesh Films, Mr. X is being presented by Fox Star Studios and has been directed by Vikram Bhatt. The film will release in 3D and 2D.
