Andhra Pradesh: 13 districts in split in 3 categories
Hyderabad: The AP government has classified the 13 districts of the state into three categories according to their location to reach the double digit growth target.
AP has divided the districts as high growth, medium growth and low growth categories. The government has also identified in which district which sector stood in the first three ranks. Vizag, East and West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam and Nellore districts were categorised as high growth districts. Chittoor, Kadapa, Ananthapur and Kurnool districts were categorised as medium growth and Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts were categorised as low growth districts.
The government has fixed the target district, sector, commodity-wise for the year 2015-16. The AP government wants to achieve 20 per cent Gross State Domestic Product in the year and wants to achieve Rs 62,4030 crore against the RS 52,0030 crore in 2014-15. In the industries and service sectors Visakhapatnam stands in the first rank followed by East Godavari in second and Krishna district in third rank. In agriculture and allied sectors West Godavari stands in first rank followed by Krishna in second and Guntur in third ranks.
