I believe in the supernatural: Shaleen Malhotra

Shaleen Malhotra has turned host for Colors’ Code Red, which will now be focusing on paranormal occurrences. Speaking about his latest role, Shaleen tells us, “Long before Vikas (Gupta) made the show, he had told me about the concept. I am an anchor by passion, actor by profession and cricketer by talent and luck. So I was excited by the idea of hosting the show. The basic idea is to connect with the audience and join the dots.”
Did he ever get scared of the paranormal stories? “In every episode, I’ve had at least one spine chilling moment but I believe in the old saying that ‘if you believe in God, you must believe in the devil too’. I believe in the supernatural.”
This isn’t the first time that he was offered a role of the sort though. “People have offered me such shows before, but nothing interested me. People just show a ghost in a white sari. It won’t be surprising if one day, ghosts protest the fact that TV people show them in just one costume,” he says with a laugh. “But on a serious note, I like how Code Red has handled the subject. Yes, some fiction has been added but that’s just to bring out the intrigue and emotions.”
